Teaching Self Control
A class at BMAI is unlike any experience your child will get anywhere else. Where else are kids allowed to kick and punch at each other, wrestle and throw each other around, and yell as loud as they can, while keeping their minds focused, their body movements precise, and their spirits humble and polite?
Kids love BMAI for the action-packed classes. Parents love it for the constant emphasis of life's more important lessons that are taught here.

Building Self Confidence
The instructors at BMAI know that sometimes a child who is excited to join us, and can really benefit from martial arts classes, lacks the confidence to even step into the class. Our instructors can patiently help them overcome this usually short-lived emotional hurdle. After a few classes their confidence is improved and they are training hard, learning discipline, and having a great time.

Free Introductory Class
BMAI offers a free introductory class for children to experience the fun and excitement of training with our instructors. We want to make sure that our program is a good fit for your child before you make the commitment to join. It is advised that younger children, and shy ones, observe a class before joining us on the mats.

Children are welcome to join us during any of our Level 1 karate classesor our Children's Judo classes.

Age Requirements
Our children's karate/taekwondo class accepts boys and girls ages 4-11 years old. Our children's judo class accepts boys and girls ages 6-11 years old.

What to Wear
Students should wear loose-fitting clothing during their first month of karate/taekwondo training. After that, students wear a traditional karate uniform. Students of judo need a judo uniform after their initial class. Uniforms are available at the school for $30-$40. No shoes are worn during training.

Unlimited Attendance
Most students attend 2-3 classes per week, but children may attend as many classes as they want for our $100 monthly membership fee. This includes all karate/ taekwondo and judo classes they are eligible to attend (based on age and experience level). Click here for family rates

Once-A-Week Program
We also offer a once a week program to accommodate children who want to pursue the martial arts, but have limited time. Students pay $55 per month to attend one class a week and are allowed the flexibility to attend whichever class their schedule permits.
